Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter welcomes 22 new bundles of fur; adoptions scheduled in March

There's nothing like a brand new bouncing bundle of joy to liven up a household. But can you imagine welcoming 22 new lives into your home? Well, that's just what's happened at the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, 194 Route 10 West, East Hanover.

Twenty-two new puppies born in foster care were welcomed in this world and will be up for adoption in March. The "due dates" for these adoptions are: March 5 for Charity's six hound/terrier puppies; March 12 for Meghan's seven chihuahua/spaniel puppies; and March 26 for Angie's nine black-and-yellow lab mix puppies.

All puppies will be available for Special Companions Members from noon to 2 p.m. on the first day of adoption. After 2 p.m., they will be available to the general public for adoption. What is the Special Companions Membership program? Pay $35 and for the next three months, the shelter will do its best to locate the perfect pet for you. The program helps adopters looking to adopt harder-to-find pets, including puppies, purebred animals or small dogs. When a potential match for the adopter arrives at the shelter, those in the Special Companions Program are notified first, before the pet is available to the general public. Want more information?
