Look for 'pot of gold' at the Montville Animal Shelter during month-long St. Patrick's Day celebration

As you can see, I can't resist "dressing up" my teacup Yorkshire Terrier Emma for the holidays. This time, it was for St. Patrick's Day. She tolerates it just long enough for me to snap a photo or two, but then I have to take off the costume and apologize with a biscuit.

I'm not the only pet person who enjoys celebrating the holidays. The Montville Animal Shelter and Montville Pet Parents are celebrating, too, with a "Luck of the Irish" adoption promotion. Everyone who adopts an animal during the month of March will get to select a "gold" coin from the pot of gold that will save them some green. Each coin is printed with a discount ranging from $5 to $20 off any adoption completed during the month. Adopters also will receive a free adoption kit.

Hours for Montville Animal Shelter, 86 River Road, are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon; Sunday by appointment. For more information, call 973-334-6410 or e-mail to maswecare@yahoo.com.
