It's a busy Friday for the folks at Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter in East Hanover, who will take part with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in today's rescue and eventual placement of 97 dogs surrendered from the non-profit animal, Help A Hound Canine Rescue in Oppenheim, N.Y. Volunteers/staff will arrive with the animals at around 5 p.m. Anyone interested in adopting any of these rescued dogs should call 973-386-0590 or visit www.njshelter.org.
In other news from Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, a discount microchipping clinic using Home Again microchips will be held at Subaru of Mount Olive, 364 Route 46 West, Hackettstown, from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 16. Cost of this simple procedure, similar to a routine vaccination and takes only seconds, will be $25 per pet. Appointments are not required. The shelter also will have adoptable dogs on hand. The Friends of the Randolph Animal Pound will hold a special cat adoption on Saturday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Randolph Animal Pound, 1345 Sussex Turnpike, Randolph. Adoption fees are $50. Dogs and small animals also will be available for adoption. For more information, call 973-886-1485.
